The muscle testing exam performed in this office is based on the technique developed by Dr. Richard Versendaal over the past 50 years called contact Reflex Analysis (CRA). The reflex points of CRA were modified by Dr. John Brimhall 20 years ago when he developed additional reflex points that correlate with different body systems.
The muscle response testing used today provides a great deal of information about the energized status of the body and its various organs, glands and systems without having to penetrate the skin or use invasive techniques. The degree of accuracy is remarkable and best seen in the results achieved and the speed of that achievement by practitioners skilled in this approach.
Using the muscle system as a tool this technique analyzes the various meridians and contact points located upon these pathways for the integrity of the energy flow. When the doctor touches one of the surface contact reflex points he/she is monitoring the energy of that specific system as a challenge to the system integrity. If the strength of that point remains when it is challenged it may be interpreted that the system or function associated is energized sufficiently, but it may also have an excess energy.
When a reflex point tests weak or is defeated by the challenge it is interpreted that there is a loss of energy and an inadequacy about that system. It should be noted that a weakness can never be equated to a diagnosis of a disease or conditions, so that if a reflex for an organ tests weak it means only that the system energetically is imbalanced.
Weaknesses are interpreted as areas of need, area wherein the body may require cleansing, strengthening or repair. Clinically after 1 - 3 months of specific nutritional support for the weak target system or organ, the reflex point will no longer be weak and there is usually an improvement in the individual's state of health and the symptoms associated with that particular body function.
There are many ways to strengthen a particular weakness including nutritional and herbal supplementation, lifestyle modification, homeopathic remedies, chiropractic to improve nerve function and energy reaching the area, and stimulation to acupuncture points to restore normal energy flow through the meridians.
Muscle response testing (MRT) is a form of kinesological testing. This technique of analysis has been growing in use as it is a way of quickly surveying the body without unnecessary expense or invasion. A native Michigan chiropractor, Dr. George Goodheart, first developed this procedure over 60 years ago. It is now being used by various types of practitioners all over the world, including medical physicians, osteopaths, naturopaths and chiropractors as a form of prevention by finding weaknesses before they manifest as conditions or diseases.
