After reviewing data from over 50,000 cervical manipulations, researchers found no reports of serious adverse events. Researchers concluded, "… the risk of a serious adverse event, immediately or up to 7 days after treatment, was low to very low". Compare this to the risks associated with the use of prescription medications, where over 2.2 million people had serious adverse side effects in the year 2000.
