Our receptionist will greet you and welcome you as a member of our family when you enter our office. We will request you fill out new patient forms before arriving. The paperwork provides us with general information about you and your condition. Please download the New Patient Health History that we will need as part of Your First Chiropractic Visit. If you have more than one health issue, please download the Symptom Survey for Your First Chiropractic Visit. Please complete these forms before your visit and bring them with you.
Next you will have a consultation with the doctor to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, as well as potential treatment options. Your first visit is designed for the doctor to learn more about you, your condition and your expectations to determine whether holistic wellness and chiropractic care will you meet your health and wellness goals. A screening evaluation may be included as part of your consultation. This evaluation allows the doctor to determine if your health conditions can be helped with chiropractic and holistic wellness care.
After your consultation your doctor will perform a complete chiropractic examination testing your reflexes, your ability to turn and bend as well as other standard neurological, orthopedic, postural, and physical examinations. Nothing will be done in our office without your consent. Other examinations may be performed including a nervous system analysis, postural blood pressure stress analysis and/or a nutritional body health scan.
Your specific condition may require us to take x-rays to get a full picture of your spine. X-rays help us rule out more serious conditions and assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you. Most people are amazed once they see their spinal x-rays. People can often immediately identify their own spinal misalignments and stage of arthritis or spinal degeneration.
Report of Findings
Once all the information and examinations have been performed, the doctor will give you a report of findings to answer the four most popular questions:
1. Can you help me?
2. How long will it take?
3. How much is it going to cose?
4. What do you recommend that I do to get better?
After discussing your history and your goals, examining your spine and reviewing any x-rays or tests, the doctor will discuss recommendations with you. If you have a condition that requires care with other providers, the doctor will tell you. If the doctor believes you can be helped, a treatment program will be recommended and a wellness program outlined.
Patients will generally be provided with their first treatment at the conclusion of the second visit. However, the doctor may provide treatment to emergency patients on the first appointment. Treatment may include spinal adjustments, physical therapies, and/or soft tissue therapies. The chiropractic used in this office is gentle, non-force chiropractic. Treatment is interactive with you, so you can express any concerns you may have about the type of chiropractic adjustment. Our goal is for you to be comfortable with both the doctor and the treatment.
Prior to leaving the office, each patient will be instructed on a wellness program to be conducted at home. If you are in pain when you first come into our office, instructions may include ice or heat application, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises and/or stretches. If you desire an overall wellness lifestyle, our wellness team will work with you to create good habits and routines that support your success. Every body is unique and different, and therefore everyone requires a unique and customized wellness plan. The foundation of our overall wellness lifestyle is maintaining a healthy posture and good spinal alignment, eating a healthy diet, taking high quality whole food supplements, keeping your weight under control, having balanced hormones, and ensuring that you have a means of achieving stress relief.
